Transcribatron — Support
Questions, bugs, or feedback: support@transcribatron.ca
Transcribatron turns your voice into clean, structured text on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. There is no account to set up and nothing to sign in to — so if something isn't working, email us and include your device and your iOS or macOS version.
Common questions
Do I need an account? No. There isn't one.
Is this a subscription? No. Transcribatron is a one-time purchase, and the trial is 7 days.
I bought it on my iPhone. Do I have to buy it again on my Mac? No. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Where do my recordings go? Nowhere. Transcription runs on your device. If you turn on a cloud AI feature, only text is sent — using your own API key, straight to the provider you chose. See the Privacy Policy.
Why does the keyboard ask for Full Access? iOS shows a strong warning for every third-party keyboard that requests it. Ours uses it to reach the app's own data on your device so dictation and cleanup work in the keyboard the same way they do in the app. It does not log or store what you type. The Privacy Policy explains this in full.
Why does the Mac app ask for Screen Recording? To capture system audio during a call, so both sides get transcribed. macOS has no audio-only capture permission — every video frame is discarded, and nothing on your screen is captured or stored. It's off unless you turn it on for a meeting.
Meeting Buddy says it needs a cloud AI model. Live coaching is the one feature that can't run on-device — it needs a cloud provider and your own API key. Everything else, including transcription, works without one.
Something's broken. How do I help you fix it? Settings → export your logs and attach them to an email. Logs never contain your recordings or transcripts. If we need more, we may ask you to switch on optional diagnostics — that turns itself back off after about an hour.
